International Women's Day is a date that gives visibility to the various struggles faced by feminism over the years. The search for gender equity in working conditions, for example, still continues, but it is a fact that many women have already gained more space in the market thanks to this movement. However, most of them still have to deal with a tiring routine, which also involves taking care of the home and family. And, in this context, the self-care it can be a challenge.

Thus, often, taking the time to take care of yourself becomes an arduous task that, unfortunately, ends up being left in the background. But adopting healthy habits can make a big difference in your quality of life and self-esteem and, consequently, in your productivity. For this reason, we have separated some simple tips, which can contribute to your well-being amidst the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

# 1 - Mental health first

First of all, it is necessary to remember that the self-care it goes far beyond the concern with aesthetic issues. Here is the Latin quote: “Mens sana in corpore sano”, Recalling the importance of seeking a balance between mind and body. Thus, it is also necessary to take care of psychological health and spirituality.

There are several ways to do this and you can choose the ones that have the most to do with your reality or interest. Meditation, therapy, yoga and other alternative techniques are just a few of these options. Also, reading a book, listening to a playlist nice or bet on a new hobby they are examples of simple practices that provide an increase in the level of personal satisfaction.

# 2 - Eating healthy is essential

Cultivating beneficial habits is essential to better take care of physical and mental health, raising self-esteem. Foods such as fruits and vegetables, for example, strengthen the immune system and guarantee the daily dose of energy that will be expended in daily activities. So, invest in a balanced diet that provides the vitamins and other nutrients needed by your body.

A valuable tip for those who want to eat better, but do not have much time to dedicate themselves to preparing meals, is to set aside a day of the week to do the lunchboxes. That way, just cook the food and take it to the freezer until the day you eat it. And for that, separate the food into daily portions and store them in Zip Lock bagsin order to increase food conservation over the days.

# 3 - Put your body in motion

In addition to influencing health and body aesthetics - reducing cholesterol and blood sugar levels, strengthening muscles and increasing respiratory capacity, just to give you a few examples - the practice of physical exercises stimulates the release of serotonin, a hormone that contributes for the feeling of well-being.

Thus, it is important to set aside a few minutes of your day to move your body. Today there are options for all tastes and needs: weight training, pilates, ballet, swimming, judo, zouk, running, cycling ... Choose any activity that suits your profile and time available, and this task will be very pleasant!

# 4 - Get on the wave skincare

Aesthetic care also contributes a lot to increase self-esteem. So, set aside one day a week to do a skincare. In this context, facial cleansing masks - like natural products made of clay - are a great alternative, as they help to invigorate the appearance of the skin. And to further enhance the effect of the treatment, apply the mask on the face and cover with plastic film. Thus, your pores will open more easily, allowing for a deeper cleaning.

# 5 - Taking care of your feet is also self-care

If you have a running routine, it is very likely that you will end most of the days with a high level of accumulated stress, which is often reflected in pain and swelling in your feet, right? This is because they are responsible for supporting our body and thus suffer great wear and tear on the joints. That way, taking some care of your feet can relieve body tension and help you relax.

Start by dipping your feet in a bowl of warm water and essential oils (or a bit of coarse salt). Then, dry and apply a moisturizer for feet, massaging the area a lot. And a tip to boost the hydration is to wrap your feet with a piece of plastic film, in order to ensure greater absorption of the cream on the skin.
